Why Aunenen is notorious
Aunenen is the mouth of a small low-sec pocket in Lonetrek, a short hop from Jita — and the pocket has only one door. Everything moving in or out passes the same choke, which makes the topology a camper's dream: hold one gate and you hold the whole pocket.
That choke has earned Aunenen two reputations. It is a long-standing ganking spot for industrial traffic worth catching this close to the Jita sphere, and it is one of the game's better-known capital trap systems: low-sec within easy reach of high-sec staging, it has hosted years of cyno bait, escalation fights and dropped-on-the-gate brawls. If you must use the pocket, scout the Aunenen side first — the gate looks quiet right up until it isn't.
